1/2 cup white beans
1/2 cup lentils
2-3 cans chicken broth
1 can diced tomatoes
1 tsp basil
1 tsp parsley
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp thyme
1/8 tsp sage
1/8 tsp paprika
1/3 cup diced onions
1/3 cup diced yellow peppers
1/3 cup diced orange peppers
1/3 cup peas
1/3 cup diced celery
1/2 cup butter
1 cup pasta (small shells or elbow pasta work best)

1. Pour 1 can chicken brother into a large pot.  Add beans and lentils.  Bring to boil.
2. Add tomatoes and seasonings, cover and reduce heat to medium.
3. Allow to boil 1 hour.  Add more water or broth as liquid begins to reduce.
4. Once beans and lentils are starting to soften, add vegetables (you can add or subtract certain vegetables, depending on what you have on hand, and what you like).
5. Add another can of chicken broth and butter.  Return to a boil for 30 minutes.
6. Add pasta, cook for 10 minutes, and remove from heat.  Serve immediately or let sit for a while.  The flavors are more intense the longer it sits. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese to serve.
