Cream Cheese Frosting

This recipe differs from most in that it’s lighter and not as sweet. Often so much powdered sugar is added to give extra body to a frosting. In this recipe however, the majority of the frosting structure comes from whipping the cream. The result is a frosting that doesn’t detract from whatever it’s adorning.

Uses: On top of banana bread, for red velvet cake, or even crackers!

Ingredients:

2 tbls softened butter

8 oz softened cream cheese

i/2 cup heavy whipping cream

1 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

Cream butter and cream cheese together, then add heavy whipping cream and beat for one minute.

Add powdered sugar and mix until smooth.

For banana bread, cut the recipe in half.

For a two-layered cake, double the recipe!
